A very odd thing occured about forty minutes ago. Heard a low flying helicopter and assumed there had been an accident on Rte 273 and it was the State Police medivac. It continued to circle my neighbors farm and a low altitude, maybe 400 feet. I went over to my neighbors to see if things were OK. The helicopter continued to make lazy, low level turns above my neighbors equipment area. My neighbor was also outside observing. This continued for ten to twelve minutes, with the helicopter occasionally hovering in one spot. It then flew toward Sylmar road, but was back again in five minutes; however, this time it dropped several times to 200 feet or less. It continued its circular flight pattern around my neighbors barn and equipment building, stopping several times and hovering with its nose pointed directly at my neighbor. We both looked closely for any FAA numbers. Not a one. None on the belly. None on the tail boom. None on the front. It was all black in color with absolutely no identification. It continued to hover low, 200 to 300 feet, and watch my neighbor until he went into the house for a scope to get a better view of who was on-board. When it r ee realized it was being more closely monitored, it left in the direction of Northeast, MD. No, it was not a DNR helicopter. If so, if was unmarked. If that was a civilian pilot, his actions were illegal in many ways.
