A very productive business meeting was held last evening at the Hall. Some of the topics discussed related to hall rentals and revising the rental agreement, as well as our pricing structure to be more in line with others in the vicinity. The group was presented formation information re: The Mothers Day Gourmet Lasagna Dinner on May 10th, 2014(the night before Mothers special day). It will have the same format as the previous dinner, but plans are for a sit down style, with waiters presenting the food to all the moms and not the buffet style serving line. This dinner is a BENEFIT for fire protection and the installation of our 5k gallon water storage tank and the re-piping and well pump upgrade!!! The donation for this benefit Gourmet Lasagna Dinner is $20. Tickets can be purchased from ticket Chairman Bruce B by email at bbroderick@beingwater, or please call 964.7856. The tickets should be available by Mid-March as the info has been passed on to the printer. Tickets can also be obtained by asking any grange member. Please remember that only 200 tickets will be sold and the dinner will be at 5 and 7 PM sittings(100 each). Also a fundraiser is in the final stages of planning for November 2014. Another fundraiser is being considered and discussed for the end of May 2014. It was announced that a Public Forum on What is a Charter County & Public Bank?, will be held. The facilitators are Agnes Woolsey and Grange member Keith Wyner! This forum/presentation will be held at our hall,(26500 N Hwy 1) on Wednesday, March 12 beginning at 7:00PM. Prior to the presentation we will have our usual community potluck with each person asked to bring an entree or side to feed eight! Also please remember to bring all your own table service for eating your meal. This will tremendously lessen the impact on our clean up committee. Master Frank Menhams discussed his plans for bringing a revitalization to our grange program with the reconnection of our local 4-H FFA programs. He wants to bring local youth into the hall for educational pursuits, animal husbandry demos, and see to it that we as grangers get back to serving our communities youth. He also mentioned that the Grange Leadership group of Eileen and Deb will join him on March 17th to begin their training at the NFF, in the many farm practices one incurs when raising vegetable gardens. This training when completed in November of 2014 should allow us to begin our Farm to Table ideas he has regarding the installation and usage of on site hoop houses. Frank will be forming an ad hoc committee to lay the groundwork,(interesting words) and begin to think about how we want to inject this garden into our Grange program. Fort Bragg Grange No. 672
