A video of a cop shooting a frazzled deer as onlookers joke. Ive read a lot of points on this video, and I have some concerns. 1. How do we know the injury was fatal? How would the officer? Most of us are not vets, so how do we know the deer couldnt have gotten better? 2. Euthanasia should only be administered, IMO, when the participant can state that wish. Pets have families. The deer didnt appear to be in massive pain, just frazzled. Is it right to shoot any animal, when theres still hope for it? 3. I doubt the people who were joking around at the scene, saying Man Down were seriously concerned with the moral implications of their actions. I didnt hear anyone asking questions, or raising options. I also dont understand why the police didnt just let nature take its course, if were to assume they had the deers best interest at heart. They did not seem very solemn about their choice, but rather happy with the situation. They couldve monitored the deer, and it possibly wouldve ran back to the woods. Instead, they pushed it TOWARDS TRAFFIC, taunted it, and then finally ended its life.
