A vintage array of hair styling aids from the 50s and 60s: 1. Bought one of these dryers a couple of years ago, strictly for sentimental reasons. 2. Spoolies. Also bought for sentimental reasons. They were great for sleeping. 3. Brush rollers. Torture for sleeping. 4. Wave clamps. When I was eight, my hair was long and very thick. When I laid my head back in the water to wet it for shampooing, I could not raise it. Mom had to do it. Kept headaches all the time, and I begged to have my hair cut short. So it was cut. Well, nothing would do my mother but to buy wave clamps to style my hair. I looked like a 20s flapper. More torture inflicted on me at the hands of my loving mother. When I turned eleven, I began doing my hair myself. Torture ended, at least as far as my hair was concerned :D
