A volunteer writes: Cheetara is a real cutie patootie! Shes so playful, friendly and open-hearted that youd think shed known nothing but sunshine and smiles for all of her 4 years. But look a bit closer and its clear that life hasnt been easy for this bubbly little lady, shes far too thin and has the tell-tale glands of a dog tossed aside when her job as a mother was finished. Of course none of that is going to stop our fun-loving Cheetara from living life to the full and she has a ball running around off-leash and giving enthusiastic hugs to everyone she meets. When its time for our photo shoot my camera lens catches the sun and she chases its reflection all over the wall, so puzzled as to why she cant seem to catch the elusive white ball. As youd expect, she just loves her treats and sits on command (most of the time!) before taking them softly from my hand, always a pleasant surprise with a dog a undernourished as she is and yet another sign of her gentle nature. Now its time for a walk and given her high energy levels I assume Im about to be pulled along in her wake, yet once we hit the street Im in for another happy surprise - Cheetara walks like a dream! Shes calm, easy and responsive, other dogs are met with joyful tail wags and when I call her back to me she responds immediately. A charming little doll with a cheeky smile that would light up any room, Cheetara is going to make a wonderful playmate and snuggle buddy for the lucky family that takes her home.
