A week ago or so, the link to the TEDx talk I gave in October went live. Many of my dear family and friends have shared it already, so forgive me if you have seen it. I share it with you by way of raising a number of ideas. (It is TED after all, spreading ideas :)) Nelson Mandela explained that as a world we are as interconnected as a human body. If one part of the body has gangrene, the rest of the body cannot be well. Using his analogy, the issue of children orphaned in cataclysmic proportion makes our world body deeply unwell now and very ill in the future. It cannot be ignored. In part, this talk speaks to this issue. Mostly however, it champions the role of story in all of our lives. Stories literally change the way we think and act. I hope that itll inspire you to share your stories. (And pick up your knitting needles to #knitasquare to help warm and comfort a child today.)
