A week ago today, on the Fourth of July, two men robbed and beat the owners of a market a block away in our neighborhood and 77-year-old Mr. James Oh died that day from his injuries. Cowardly and senseless and unnecessary and heartbreaking. He was taken away from us and is now with God, fishing in the big lake in the sky. Sweet because he and Dewayne loved talking about fishing, which was so cute because he was elderly and English was his second language and D has the best accent so a lot of their conversations were signing :) I appreciate he always had red gatorade in stock because thats all I could drink for months while pregnant and he and his wife and staff were always so kind and asking about how I was doing. He was just a really nice man and great presence and Im so sad for him and for all of us that he and his family and business were so terribly violated. May he rest in peace and may people start having respect for their fellow souls.
