Red Cedar, University of Wisconsin - Barron Countys annual journal of the arts and literature, is now accepting submissions of poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, and other creative writing for our Spring, 2014, edition. Submissions of creative writing are welcome from anyone within the United States by email to [email protected]. Please note that due to potentially high submission volume we will not accept submissions from outside the U.S. Send up to five poems, or 1-3 short prose pieces of up to about 1500 words each. Mixed submissions of both poetry and prose are also acceptable. Please include all contact information, including a postal address, and a very brief bio note. Red Cedar will continue to accept submissions by email until Mon., Feb. 24, 2013. For priority consideration, please submit early! Policy on co-publishing writing by Wisconsin undergraduate students: To encourage Wisconsin’s undergraduate authors in seeking wide recognition for high-quality writing, the editors and staff of Red Cedar will consider publishing pieces by Wisconsin undergraduate students that have been accepted or recently published by other publications edited and produced by undergraduates. Policy on simultaneous submissions: Red Cedar accepts submissions that have been simultaneously submitted for consideration to other publications, with the understanding that authors will keep us informed about the status of their submitted work. UW-Barron County Red Cedar, a non-profit organization, seeks to publish outstanding arts and literature to promote new, emerging, and established artists and authors throughout the community and beyond. Our mission is to help these artists and authors reach audiences by sharing their works with the community. In addition, we take pride in our publishing process, and strive to improve every year. We offer more than just a publication. We provide experience for future writers, artists, editors, directors, and advisors on many levels. Our main goal is to provide a published product of quality tied to hard work and life long experience. Thanks, Red Cedar 2014 Editorial Staff
