The Moorooduc Polocrosse Club wants to see more and more people take up polocrosse and will do all that we can to help anyone play! Polocrosse is a game for everyone; regardless of your age, riding ability and regardless if you are highly competitive or simply want to have a good time messing around with horses! It’s loads of fun, a relaxed equestrian sport and all you need is a love of horses and the ability to enjoy yourself! Polocrosse is a mix of Polo and Lacrosse and can be played by anyone on any breed of horse. It is one of the only sports where women, men and children can all compete on an equal footing. At any given tournament you might find professionals, business people, uni students, politicians, children, tradies, farmers and school teachers all competing and mixing together. Their common characteristic is a love of sport, horses and team spirit. Polocrosse is played in a safe and encouraging environment with many junior, beginner, open and master’s grades. In the higher grades it can be an extreme sport on horseback, with fast pace and lightening quick reflexes! Polocrosse is played at club, State, National and international levels. With teams of six riders being split into two sections of three. Each section plays alternate chukkas, with riders and horses playing a position on the field against the opposition. The aim is to score goals – and to have heaps of fun, of course! What is on offer at the ‘Come and Try’ day? Starting with a Demonstration and game briefing. The morning will be various drills on horsemanship, racquet/ball skills & basic rules. Riders who are interested, there will be opportunities to try out a chukka or two…or more, if you get hooked! BBQ lunch and soft drinks included Spectators are always welcome at no charge! What do I bring:Your horse, riding gear, approved helmet & shirt with collar. Polocrosse racquets & balls will be supplied. Where and when: Moorooduc Polocrosse Park Cnr Mornington/Tyabb Rd & Derril Rd, Moorooduc Saturday 6th December 9:30am - 2:30pm How much is it: A fee of $35 per rider for the one day clinic..
