A week in a beautiful impromptu community around a farm in Tulkarem... close to the land, close to the heart, learning about farming as resistance, learning about the extraordinary resiliance of palestinan farmers and the ingenuity of palestinan agriculture students learning about sustainable farming and permaculture in the west bank... ...arriving back to the aftermath of the atrocities carried out in jerusalem this week. where resistance takes another form that i will not/cannot sit here and be silent about, or heaven forbid condone. because its close to home? because i have dear friends and friends families living in the neighbourhood where the 5 israelis were killed on tuesday? because i have spent many an inspiring hour learning jewish wisdom inside so many generous hearted homes there? because it was a shul? because they were in the middle of praying? because they were people, fathers, brothers, husbands, sons? because because because. ill be honest. i dont know how to be here when this goes on.but im going to stick with it and find out, carry on working with love, and grace for peace and justice for all in this region. and be with the grief that piles daily. my heart just goes out - to all who have had the pain and destruction of violence splice through their lives this week. lets find a way to live a different way. thats what i am interested in. and that is what i am now taking the time to reflect on, to grow within, and to build without. i love you all- big hugs xxxx
