A white friend of my from Califonia once told me in September 2012 - TopicsExpress

A white friend of my from Califonia once told me in September 2012 b4 the elections that he is afraid for Ghana after reading the book by President Mahama titled my first coup detat’ beacause the President had mention in his book that he is undecive. He noted that, if it had being in the USA the President will be challenged on his capability to lead the country, he would probably be declared unfit to lead the whole country as President beacause of his indecision. He warn that Ghanaians should be careful not to maintain him as president beacause if we do, it will spell doom for us. He mentioned that he is very surprise that even the intellectuals (university students, High school students, lawyers, Professor, Doctors, etc) of this country are not recognizing this problem and are following the man blindly. People who are undeceive are challenged on their ability to chair even cabinet and successfully superintend the affairs of the country. I was thinking through my conversation with him, and looking at what is happening now in Ghana, I see that the guy was like a prophet on that day. Almost all that he said has come to pass in Ghana. Funny enough you still have intellectuals fellowing and voting for a man who cannot even decide for himself. What a country. I weep greatly for my motherland. For me, what is happening now in Ghana where promises upon promises are not being fulfilled but yet new ones are given everyday is not very surprising to me. But I think the Ghanaian voter is to blame for the underdevelopment and the current predicament in which the country finds itself. Since the inception of multi-party democracy in Ghana, the power has being given to the Ghanaian voter to determine the destiny and direction in which the country goes. But is soo soo unfortunate that the politics in Ghana is soo much fuelled by tribalism rather than deep thinking of the abilities, capabilities, maturity, vision, patriotism and passion of the one aspiring to lead the country. Most Ghanaians are lead by tribalism and deceptive propaganda aim to sway our minds off the relevant issues of employment, health, education, infrastructure, good governance, and corruption that confront young people and the rest of the country to vote for or vote against presidential candidates. Tribalism has wiped out many nations over several centuries, it has even prevented some nations from germinating, indeed is the single biggest cost of undevelopment in africa today in this 21st century. It sadden my heart very much that Ghana, the star of Africa, the nation that showed the way to political freedom in africa and is now being looked onto to show the way to economic freedom in Africa is engulfed in soo much tribal politics leading to leaders who come in to give promises upon promises but never fulfill them, taking the citizenry for granted. But will do all they can to make sure that the interest of their cronies are satisfied at the expense of the poor nation. And all his decisions are driven by partisan greed. Is very very unfotunate and disheartening. I pray for a change now, and I pray that we Ghanaian youth should lead the away against this evil inhibiting progress and development in Ghana. God bless the Ghanaian Youth.
