A woman found this female dog in the main street of Hotchkiss, CO on Wednesday, 12/3. No collar or tags but the dog jumped right into her car. She did all the right things.....called the vets and stopped by the police department to see if they recognized her (but they didnt). Because she couldnt find a rescue to take her that day she took the dog home and it slept in her garage. Coincidently the woman had to put her elderly dog down the day before she found this one. She actually considered keeping her but it wasnt good around her cats. The dog which looks like its maybe a couple of years old has absolutely no tail or no stub at all....looks to have been born that way. The pads on her feet are worn and cracked so maybe she has been a working dog. Shes looks like a border collie mix, very obedient, friendly but shy around other dogs. What a sweet and kind heart she has AND......shes in heat. Holy cow....I hope the owner shows to claim her because shes most likely pregnant now. If no one comes forward to claim her shell be spayed next week. Please let me know if you recognize her or know her owner. She was not thin and looks well cared for.
