Dana Eikenberg Assistant Coach Dana Eikenberg is in her second season as an assistant coach at Wichita State after serving as the programs Director of Operations in 2011-12. In her first season, Eikenberg helped the Shockers reach new heights as WSU earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history in 2013. Wichita State won the Missouri Valley Conference tournament and was the regular season co-champ – both of which were also program firsts. The team set program records for wins and field goal percentage defense in 2012-13. Eikenberg helped guide Alex Harden to a breakout season. The sophomore earned the 2013 MVC Tournament MVP, 2013 MVC Defensive Player of the Year, and landed on the All-MVC First Team. Senior Jessica Diamond also became the first Shocker in a decade to earn All-MVC First Team honors for the second-straight year. In addition to her work at WSU, Eikenberg is president & CEO of Reinvent1, an innovative consulting firm providing leadership development and support to leaders in the athletic profession, including coaches, administrative leaders, and their staff. With over 20 years of Division I coaching success and extensive experience helping leaders and teams overcome challenges and succeed, Dana is known for her values-driven work ethic, enthusiastic nature, and ability to motivate and inspire. A former Missouri Valley Coach of the Year and head womens basketball coach at Southern Illinois University (SIU), Dana started her professional career in the Womens European Basketball League in Karlsruhe, Germany, where she coached teens at a U. S. Army base. Back in the states, Dana contributed her talents to the basketball staffs of the University of Illinois, Indiana State University and the University of Iowa. Before joining SIU, Dana was head womens basketball coach at the University of Missouri at Kansas City (UMKC). She is a popular speaker and presenter, sharing real-life stories of challenge and change with alumni, community, youth and professional groups.
