A woman has been detected travelling 47km/h over the speed limit - TopicsExpress

A woman has been detected travelling 47km/h over the speed limit on the Eyre Highway only a day after Police warned motorists about safe driving heading into the October long weekend. At 2.30pm today, police from the Eyre and Western Local Service Area conducting mobile radar duties at Wirrulla detected a P1 driver travelling at 147km/h. Her provisional licence limits her to a maximum speed limit of 100km/h. She has received an instant loss of licence for six months and an expiation notice totalling $1399 for excessive speed and breaching her licence conditions. Police are extremely disappointed with the behaviour of a young driver at the start of a long weekend. Motorists are reminded that police will be strictly enforcing the road rules across the October long weekend in our ongoing efforts to reduce road trauma.
