A wonderful lunch with my friend Wasef Jabari Paris and his lovely family in Hebron today. In the background throughout lunch were the sounds of rifle fire and tear gas grenades from the center of Hebron. Wasefs home is 100 meters from the Machpela tomb of the Patriarchs and Matriarchs. Throughout the lunch my Red Alert application on my iPhone get announcing the fall of rockets in Israel from Gaza, while Wesef checked the Palestinian web sites to see how they reported the fall of rockets. Quite a surreal experience.
