A wonderful woman has sent us this information below and we want to help Miracle!!!! Here is a pic of miracle the day after I live trapped her. Miracle was seen in a motel 6 parking lot in San Bernadino , ca on Oct 12 . She was sitting under a car with her brother. When she got up walk I saw her badly broken leg. She was basically dragging her left front leg to hop on the right leg to get around. I knew if I did not go back to trap her she would die. She could not get food not keep up with her mother & brother. It took 6 trips but I finally caught her on Oct 30 @ 7:30 pm. She went to the vet on Oct. 31 for an exam. She weighed in at 1 lb. 10 oz. at approx. 9 weeks, 1/2 the size of her brother. Her leg was crushed in some type of accident , we figure a car ran over her as a tiny kitten living under those cars in that motel 6 parking lot. The leg is paralyzed and will need to be amputated. The cost will be between around $500. She cannot have the surgery until she has gained some weight and is physically stronger. The blessing is the nerves were damaged in the leg so she is not in pain. I named her Miracle because as I watched her during those 6 attempts in that parking lot hopping along to keep up to mama, and saw her struggle and need to rest due to her fragile condition due to lack of nutrition, I saw her survival spirit and had to help her no matter what . The night security guard would set out food for them that I left for him during those two weeks. But because she was the littlest she had to eat last so got very little food. In the week I have had her she allows herself to be picked up and hugged and cuddled. She still will give me a tiny hiss when she is first approached at times. But always allows me to pick her up. She has gained some weight and her fur is starting to fill out. She is such a model of the will to live and I know she will be a wonderful indoor cat on three legs who will be forever grateful to be warm and fed and lived. Her brother ( Jasper) takes good care if her cleaning her and lying in front of her in the carrier bed inside the big crate. He is such a good big brother. If you can help we will all be forever grateful. Our website is feralalleycats.org if you would like to donate towards the surgery and thank you! Feral Alley Cat & Friends SPCA
