A year ago today I had a surgery that eventually led to a nearly 4 month long battle with an open wound. Daily wound care, multiple times a day, dealing with a home health nurse and wondering if it would ever close. It all seems like yesterday. There are times that I get discouraged looking at the deformed scar it all left, but I am reminded that it could have been so much worse. Those 4 months put a huge strain on my marriage, scared the crap out of my kids and showed me who my true friends and family are. Im thankful for my husband pulling nurse duty after the home health nurse stopped, my big girl Dianna for stepping in at times to do the same and for staying downstairs with me watching Friends every night so I wouldnt be alone. Im blessed with some sweet babies and a husband who stepped up to a not so pleasant task. I guess the sickness and health was tested for him and he passed. Thanks for being there for me and loving me through it all.
