A year and five days ago I made a big and scary decision- I signed the consent forms for my baby girl to undergo heart surgery with throat surgery to come the following month. now just over a year later shes gone from sleepy blue baby to power hungry -slightly less blue- toddler. shes been on local and national news BBC South East Today ITV , as well as the local newspaper Sheerness Times Guardian and radio BRFM BBC Radio Kent . shes still got more surgery, hospital appointments, visits from the physiotherapist and dietition etc to come, shes had more problems discovered and the reasons for going on the news in the first place have repeated themselves. but this year I am hopeful that we will finally get that -official- official diagnosis of ehlers-danlos syndrome instead of this is what we think she has on Monday I am taking her middle brother max for his third throat surgery and her youngest brother Alfie to be seen for possible 2nd throat surgery. but holding my hand this time will be someone who knows exactly what they are going through, because on the 11th of February last year was Tiffanys first throat surgery. My daughter is an amazing girl and has shown amazing courage, intelligence and compassion. shes one of the bravest and smartest toddlers I know (perhaps a little too smart) and a loving big sister to her twin brothers. Shes taken every challenge head on with a smile on her face. on the 14th February its your 3rd birthday. so to my frozen/ben and holly/peppa pig and pingu obsessed toddler for this year happy (belated admittedly) heart day, and I hope that you enjoy your birthday. I love you so much princess, thank you for all the love and support you have given me.
