A year end message to all Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter supporters, volunteers, rescue partners and followers--A HUGE THANK YOU for all you have done for us in 2014. Our shelter has found caring homes for 1006 once at risk, unwanted or neglected dogs and cats this year. Its been a record year of life saving. We are fortunate to have a staff that is dedicated and caring so our animals receive the best possible care. There is never a time that I need to worry if staff will be available for an emergency trip to a severely overcrowded shelter to pick up animals at risk, a midnight visit to the vet or to spend extra time with a pet that is scared and having a hard time adjusting. They are all in, all the time. We all know we can always count on our amazing volunteers. We could not do what we do without them. We simply dont have the budget to cover what they give to us. Our dogs love the extra walks and our cats love the extra cuddles. Foster volunteers can never be replaced and are a big part of how we save so many pets. Volunteers helped us purchase the first new laundry equipment weve had in a very long time, re paint and upgrade our kennels and we finally have a modern and appealing website. Please visit it if you have the time today. We love it and think you will too. njshelter.org We have many goals for 2015. We are hoping to consider expanding a bit to enable us to increase intake quarantine space and to bring more of our medical care in house in order to save the maximum number of lives possible. We will keep all our followers and supporters updated if plans for this progress. We know we can count on you to help make it happen. Ive posted a few photos of some of the Mt. Pleasant staff hard at work this year. Our staff loves follow up on our animals. If youve adopted from us, please post photos and comments on our page today. We would love to end the year seeing how loved and cherished our former residents are. Wishing everyone a Happy New Year! Suzanne Roman Executive Director
