A young man...18-years-old, to be exact, came to our breakfast yesterday and never stopped shivering, even though he was wearing a winter coat. Apparently someone had stolen his tent and all of its contents a day or so prior. He begged us to help him get a room so he could just be warm for a little while. I told him that we had literally JUST received a donation that could get him a room for 1 night OR we could get him a tent and sleeping bag he could use for many. It was a difficult decision for him because he was chilled to the bone, but he selected the tent and sleeping bag. I think this was a wise decision, dont you? Feed Fred is now accepting donations of backpacks,tents and sleeping bags. PLEASE...look in your garage/attic and think about donating these items to us. We hear about situations like this almost on a daily basis. Someone could REALLY use these things if you are not. :0)
