A young man says he’s in love and cannot forget his LoVE. A young man calls in to Shaykh Muhammad al’Arifi during a live broadcast. The young man says he’s in love and cannot forget his love and asks for theShaykh’s advice. The Shaykh advises the young man to seek help from Allah SWT and do much du’a (supplication). The young man asks the Shaykh if there are any special du’a he can do to get rid of this obsessive love that has attached itself in the heart. The ‘alim advises him to say the following du’a: “Allahuma-j’al fee qalbee noora, wa-fee basaree noora(w), wa-fee sam’ee noora...(Oh Allah! Let there be light (Noor) in my heart, light (Noor) in my eyesight, light in my hearing…” [Sahih al-Bukhari; Muslim] The Shaykh didn’t get to finish the du’a as he’s interrupted by the young man who pleads, “Please, please honourable Shaykh, but stop.” The Shaykh stops and asks, “Have I said anything wrong?” The young man replies, “The girl I’m in love with is named Noor.” The Shaykh then laughs so much he has to stop his lecture!
