AA Bronson: Life and Work - A Lecture by AA Bronson Tuesday, October 28th AA Bronson: Life and Work - A Lecture by AA Bronson Hart House, University of Toronto AA Bronson – artist, healer, and former member of General Idea – returned to Toronto to present a lecture on self-portraiture, queerness, magic, and other lines of thinking in his work before, through, and beyond General Idea. In particular, Bronson reflected on his recent exhibitions The Temptation of AA Bronson at Witte de With in Rotterdam, AA Bronson’s House of Shame at the Gwangju Biennale, and his current work in AA Bronson: Life and Work at UTAC. ---------------------- AA Bronson: Life and Work September 2 – November 15, 2014 Curated by Barbara Fischer Featuring work by AA Bronson, artist, healer, and surviving member of General Idea, this exhibition centres on a series of life-size, diamond-dusted self-portraits of Bronson as artist-shaman alongside experiments with self-portraiture from the late 1960s to the present. AA Bronson: Life and Work considers the revolutionary power of queer politics, self-representation, and artistic practices of healing.
