#AACoPD | From our friends at Anne Arundel County Police Department | Please remember to lock your cars at night In the past several days, Officers from Northern District have responded to multiple calls for theft from autos in the Norman Ave area of Glen Burnie and surrounding areas. During each of the incidents, the suspect(s) entered the vehicles because they were unlocked: The suspect(s) appear to be entering the vehicles and rifling through the glove compartment box and doing a quick search of the interior of the vehicle. Citizens are asked to take preventive measures to help reduce the chances of becoming a victim of a theft from auto. Some suggestions include: a. Never leave ANY valuable items in plain view. Items such as GPSs, iPads/iPods, laptop computers, cell phones, cameras, wallets and purses should all be kept inside the trunk or in the center console/glove box when not in use. This would also include any charging cords that are used for any of these devices. b. Never leave any gift wrapped packages out in the open. c. Park in well-lit areas when possible. d. Consider adding an alarm to your car e. Leave the exterior lights on around the outside of your home. f. LOCK ALL OF YOUR DOORS!!!!!!!!! These thefts from autos have occurred on the following streets in Glen Burnie: Norman Ave Phelps Ave Sandsbury Ave Ingalls Rd All of the thefts from autos have been occurring during the overnight hours of 12 May-2014. Citizens are asked to report any suspicious activity immediately by dialing 911.
