AAP Karnataka has always stood firmly with the weaker section of the slums who have been evicted from their homes in Ejipura, Bangalore. Evictees from Ejipura are going to protest tomorrow 2nd Sep, at 10 AM in front of TownHall, Bangalore. We at AAP strongly support their protest and will standby them in their struggle. The evictees from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of Ejipura are continuing their struggle against the worst type of injustice, humiliation and violence they faced . But only with the support of the larger public in Bangalore including many civil society organizations, slum peoples organisations, organic intellectuals, democratic parties and media, they could sustain their battle both in streets and the courts. Still they are holding their breath with the fond hope that one day justice and dignity will dawn upon them. Due to the block from BDA, and the pending cases in High Court the construction work at the EWS site was not commenced. But now with the clearance and approval of BDA of maverick`s plan, it`s likely that the work is starting now. The EWS writ petition in Karnataka high court is coming for hearing on 3rd for final argument. The EWS evictees have decided to bring attention of our government and stage one day Dharna on 2nd September 2014, Tuesday in front of Town Hall at 10.00 AM. We invite you and seek your active support and solidarity to make the protest a grand success. And with that they can retain their land, dignity and livelihood.
