ABIA 2015 ON MY MIND Abia as it is today has everything it takes to fail as well as all it takes to be a resounding successes; all it takes to fail because frustrations and hopelessness with the attendant tension are mounting and might dove-tail into an unbelievable disaster if unchecked. All it takes to succeed because in the midst of the worst darkness lies rays of hope especially in the abundance of tools and resources to quickly rebuild. Weve steadily threaded this ill-defined path for too long, a path which is obviously taking us further away from our dreams, our full potentials and our true worth. We are at a crossroads, so backward but not hopeless, weve been adjudged failures but we know deep down that we have all we need to emerge a glory, theres palpable frustration in the land but we are not utterly destroyed. Our current state of affairs could be a gain or a pain, it could lead to doom or boom; the choices between continuing in this path or making a U-turn to begin the journey of renaissance are entirely ours... one will lead us further into frustration, despair and ultimate catastrophe, the other will lead us into unbelievable transformation, of glory and pride... I for one will go for the turn, for the re-emergence and for the brand NEW ABIA anchored or hope, on proper foundation for collective prosperity, of peace, fulfillment and posterity. We are not unaware that the status quo favours many among us who unfortunately are our brothers and sisters but who in myopic fixations consider fringe personal gains far more important than building a land that will be celebrated all over the globe as a pride of Africa and the entire black race... or may be they lack the capacity to see the possibilities that abound around us which in any case is very unfortunate though not an irreversible case Lets not remain in an illusion that all is well, lets not pretend that carrying on in this familiar terrain will give us a different outcome this time around, let us rather take our chance at destiny and do things differently for once.... Let us for once shun greed and private gains, lets dare to dream and birth the NEW ABIA, lets dare to allow ourselves room for new thinking; an innovative thinking... Im proposing a CHANGE anchored on virtues of integrity, love, hard-work, empathy, excellence, consistency, contentment and commitments. Im proposing a new order; a NEW ABIA built on the foundation of Dignity, Competence and Hope, I propose building for ourselves and for our children a land of pride, a flourishing land, a land of harmony and peace, a land of dreams and their actualizations, a land of massive opportunity... May God Himself, the real owner of Abia give us the Courage and determination this journey will demand of us, may we experience His exceeding grace manifested in His strange works and strange acts, may He touch down into the deep recesses of the hardened hearts of the PHAROAHS in Abia to let His people go... may He help our resolve to dethrone all evil status quos and rebuild the old waste places... May He protect and preserve us all and abide with us all through this journey until we are able to raise our heads in pride but in total glory and submission to Him for the birth of a NEW ABIA... So help us God
