In this video, we will show you how to use AC Rescue, your quick and easy Air Conditioner Maintenance kit. Cleaning your air conditioner regularly can lead to better performance and higher efficiency from your system. It is important that before you perform any type of cleaning or maintenance that you always remember to turn off the power to your air conditioner. 1. Cleaning the outside condenser: *The first step in cleaning your ac unit is to clean the condenser using the Foam-Plus, foaming coil cleaner. The condenser is the unit that sits outside. If possible, remove the top and side grill of the air conditioner condenser. This part is not necessary if the grill is difficult to take off, but it can be useful when trying to do more thorough cleaning. *Use a vacuum or brush to remove any leaves or grass clippings that may stuck to the condenser. Be careful not to damage the fins on the condenser because this could affect the performance of the unit. *Next, spray the condenser with Foam-PlusTM Condenser Cleaner and let it soak into the fins. Then, rinse away the cleaner with the dirt and grime that has built up on the condenser fins. *You will also want to check the concrete pad where the condenser sits and make sure that it is free from any tall grass or vines that could possibly grow into the condenser. Also, trim any hedges that are close to the condenser back far enough to keep extra dirt from forming inside the unit. *If you removed your grills, be sure to remember to place them back on the condenser . 2. Cleaning the evaporator coil and drain pan: *In this step we will show you how to clean the evaporator coil and drain pan. First, remove the access panel of the evaporator coil and air handler. Also, remove the filter to expose the coil if this is applicable to your system. *Spray the evaporator coil and drain pan with TRIPLE DTM non-foaming alkaline coil cleaner and let it sit long enough to penetrate the fins and reach the dirt and grime underneath the coil. There is no need to rinse the coil, just run the system and let the condensation do the job. *Place the Pro-Treat® soluble tablet in the drain pan to keep slime and sludge from forming. This soluble tablet will dissolve slowly in the drain pan over time and keep the condensate lines clean, preventing overflow problems. *Then replace the access panel on your coil. 3. Deodorizing your system: *Open the Duct-Fresh Gel and place inside the return vent of the air handler to freshen the smell of the circulating air inside your ducts. This non-toxic odor neutralizer eliminates stale odors that may have accumulated inside your system. This is also a good time to check your air filter. It is recommended that for good system maintenance that you check your air filter monthly and replace it as needed. The AC Rescue kit is a useful tool in helping to perform good system maintenance which will not only improve system performance but it will also extend the life of your system Please remember to keep all chemicals away from children and practice safety in all applications.
