ABOUT PATCHES A quick note: the dentist called from the Animal Medical Center. Surgery went well, he took out I forget 15 or 17 remaining teeth, no problems, he flushed out the kidneys whatever that means and he has him on a nice IV pump of a powerful opioid overnight till the transdermal patch drug kicks in (it takes 12 hours to take effect) and we get Patchie tomorrow. He said that he agrees with me, no depo, no covenia, no pred, etc. just the antibiotics for his kidney infection plus the post surgery antibiotics, likely to continue then his Baytril, Clavamox and clindamycin (he though cat needs only one, not both, of latter two). Full time anesthesiologist which makes it really great (he said the anesthesia was boring meaning it went without incident or challenge) and he said he expects it will take a month for Patchie to feel better in the mouth. No promises of cure but certainly hopeful for much improvement. I am happy and relieved (but sad at the same time, of course.) We get him tomorrow.
