ABOUT THE PARTICIPATING ARTISTS Agnes Buya Ng’ambi Yombwe is a mixed media artist. She received an Art Teacher’s Diploma from Evelyn Hone College in 1989. She has a certificate in Art and Design from Wimbledon School of Art, London, United Kingdom, in 1993. She taught art at Libala Boys and Matero Boys Secondary Schools for 1 and 6 years. In Botswana, she taught at Bonnington and Donga Community Junior Secondary Schools for 7 and 3 years respectively. Agnes is a prolific and very successful experimental artist who has won 10 awards both at home and abroad including the Ngoma award for the year 2000 in the Julia Malunga Award, first prize in print/graphic category in Artist in Botswana in 2003 and best artwork by female artist in the Franco-COMESA club exhibition of 2005. She has held 4 solo exhibitions and has also undertaken prestigious studio residences at the Edvard Munch in Oslo Norway in 1995 and at the McColl Centre for Visual Arts in North Carolina in United States of America in 2002. She has exhibited in Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, Norway, United Kingdom, United States of America, Germany and Jar kata, Indonesia. Her work is in private and public collection. Currently she runs Wayi Wayi Art Studio and Gallery with husband Lawrence in Livingstone, Zambia.
