When the war finally ended eleven months later, the Germans assumed the blockade would be lifted and they would be fed again. Instead the blockade went on, and was even tightened." I have never come across anyone in the Iranian American community supporting sanctions that actually knew much about their history, their mechanisms or the bureaucratic process of trying to lift them. This article should be mandatory reading.
