ABSOLUTELY AMAZING FIND BY DAN FROM WORCESTER Dan Drysdale ROGER JOHNSON - NIGHT FM 1987. Dave Pearce used to do Monday night Hip Hop on Night FM. Roger would do scratch mix sessions on that show. This set is Rogers Friday show where he mixed up Hip Hop, Soul, and lots of the early vocal house. I had the pleasure through out the summer of 92 djing with Roger at Labrynth / 2000AD. I was absolutely star struck. He literally is an all time hero of mine. Rogers son had a short spell of working for my brother on the markets. I last see Roger at Notting Hill carnival about 3 years ago. Legend gets used for too many ... But Roger truly is a legend! Listening back to this brings back so many memories. About 12 years ago Jon Clsm Doe worked on remixes for Dave Pearces BMG label. Jon was signed to me at the time so I done the deals with Dave. Dave told me how him and Roger kept all their records in the radio London offices, and when Radio London went in to receivership they lost over 3000 vinyl ... Including dub plates of the 1st Public Enemy album. Dave Pearce and Roger Johnson for a short period used to host a Sunday afternoon show on Radio London through out 87. Before Rodigans show. Every Sunday I would enter the phone in competition, and for 6 weeks in a row I won. In the end they said I couldnt win anymore. I was about 13 at the time. Dave Pearce invited me up to his Monday show to review records one evening that year .... Yes I was a radio stalker obsessed with Night FM / Mike Allan on Capital and Westwood on Kiss.
