ABSTRACT: This study tackles the impacts of wars and conflicts on educational process in Africa, and its role in upgrading the percentage of illiteracy among African communities. These wars resulted from the direct policies of colonization which divided Africa into countries without accounting for the political boundaries and privacy of the African communities. These wars, also, affect all life aspects, particularly educational sector, in countries, such as Somalia, Rwanda Brandi, Sudan, Liberia, Sera lion and others. The study came out with the fact that there is a direct relation between wars and conflicts in one hand and the spread of ignorance in the other hand. There is also statistical variations between the budgets devoted to education in contrast to those devoted to security and military efforts. The study recommended the establishment of institutes for peace studies, and to identify the year 2015 as the year of peace in Africa.
