ACCORDING TO ANALYSIS by Deloitte, English Premier League clubs - TopicsExpress

ACCORDING TO ANALYSIS by Deloitte, English Premier League clubs spent a record £630 million this summer - a 29 per cent increase on the 2012 window figure, and £130 million more than the previous record set in 2008, For many, the level of spending was a surprise, particularly following the introduction of FFP regulations that have been brought in by various governing bodies across Europe. In general, clubs playing in UEFA competitions have to ensure that they do not make more than a 45 million loss based on their 2011/12 and 2012/13 accounts. English Premier League clubs have more room for manoeuvre - with a £105 million loss permitted over three seasons - however they also have a soft salary cap, with exceptions, to ensure clubs can spend only £4 million more this season than they did last season.
