ACEN SCHOOL OF CONSULTING ENGINEERING ANNOUNCES A 3-DAY TECHNICAL TRAINING ON PREPARATION OF TENDER & CONTRACT DOCUMENT INTRODUCTION Infrastructure and public works projects account for a major part of the resources of Nigeria. These projects enhance the quality of life, whether they are electric power projects, roads, water supply, housing etc. The completion of the design stage of project preparation culminates in the preparation of a number of documents including Tender Documents. These several documents which define fully what is to be constructed, to what quality, how it will be paid for and what risks and responsibilities the various parties must bear is incidentally the first stage in project implementation. A clearly written tender document must address not just the clients brief but also the normal concerns of a Contractor or vendor and results in realistic bidding by Contractors. The quality and clarity of the tender documents influence the tenders received. This three-day course will focus on the key issues and techniques for successful procurement and tendering for works, goods or services from early planning to basic skills needed in the preparation of tender documents, bidding, bid evaluation, negotiation and contract award. It encompasses providing participants with an understanding of the various procurement guidelines (of the World Bank, the ADB, ICE, BPP and FMW&H), tendering procedures, principles and methods of tender preparation and evaluation including the preparation of contract documents.
