ACREM will no longer post any information, news or updates from - TopicsExpress

ACREM will no longer post any information, news or updates from the #CFA, following criticism by one of their managers regarding the format of tweets that come automatically from our Facebook posts. To give an explanation, ACREM does not tweet directly. Instead the first 140 characters (less actually when you include the hyperlink back to FB) of our Facebook posts are automatically tweeted on our Twitter account. As such our posts are generally written with Facebook in mind, and whilst a link (or credit) to original sources is usually provided, it is usually toward or at the end of the post and not within these first few characters. The idea has always been that the Twitter feed would grab their attention with the important information, with followers able to click the link to our Facebook page if they wanted more details, including information on the original source. Furthermore, as our posts are formatted for Facebook and not Twitter, we tend not to add the @... tag but rather the hashtag. This concept has, however, been difficult to convey to their digital media manager, who has indicated that we should amend our tweets to include the relevant @ tag that links back to them (even though our original posts dont always come from a twitter feed but the news feed they originate from). This would obviously double the work of our already stretched volunteers who would need to post to Facebook and then separately post to Twitter an amended message, so the simplest solution is to remove any posts from the relevant source so we no longer offend those worthwhile services. We trust you will understand, and suggest you visit the #CFA website direct for any news and information from that service. ACREM will continue to provide information and updates from other services and organisations, as we have been doing for some time now without issue.
