ACTIVE CITIZENS- CALL FOR PROGRAMME PARTNERSHIP PROPOSAL Active Citizens is a programme run by the British Council and its partners in over 30 countries. It promotes community cohesion and development through capacity building of young leaders for civic engagement and volunteering. Active Citizens are young, empowered leaders who bring positive changes to their communities through social action. In Pakistan we work with a network of 35 civil society partners and over 300 facilitators and have trained more than 12,000 young leaders in 2012-13 offering a comprehensive package that covers training, opportunities for sustained community engagement, and a chance to participate in youth exchanges and policy dialogues at both the national and international level. Programme Partnership for Civil Society Organisations The Active Citizens programme offers opportunities for civil society organisations to join a growing network of local partners delivering the programme across Pakistan. Unique features of the programme: •A globally standardised training and development framework for partner organisations and young people •Opportunities for developing young leaders, civil society partners’ employees as facilitator •Access to national and international advocacy opportunities •Prospects of interaction and building linkages with partners nationally and internationally Download the Partnership Proposal Form and Programme Proposal Guidelines.
