ACTIVITIES FOR SUNDAY 28TH OF JULY, 2013 About 2:58am on Saturday the 27th of July 2013 the Gunnedah Golf Club was broken into when a brick was thrown through a window. No property appears to have been stolen at this time. About 4:27am the same morning a second break and enter was committed at Mornington Butchers on Marquis Street, Gunnedah. One offender has entered the premises while the second has remained outside apparently keeping a lookout. A small amount of money was stolen from the cash register at this location. In both instances the actions of the two offenders were captured on CCTV and appear to have been committed by the same persons. One male offender was wearing a black jumper with a grey hood, dark pants and white shoes while the other was wearing a white or grey hooded jumper, jeans with a white belt and white sneakers. As is often the case the value of the damage caused by these offenders in breaking into the premises far exceeds that of the property stolen. Police are following a number of leads and inquiries are continuing to identify these offenders. Anyone with information should contact Gunnedah Police or Crime Stoppers. About 8:15pm on Saturday the 27th of July 2013 Tamworth Police were patrolling Peel Street when they noticed a 15 year old male sitting on a push bike smoking a cigarette at the front of the City Plaza Shopping Centre. Police stopped and spoke to the youth who, after questioning, has handed police a 20cm black folding knife which he had in his left pants pocket. He was asked why he was carrying the weapon and told Police that it was for self protection. Police informed the youth that this is not a reasonable excuse for carrying a knife and confiscated it. He was then conveyed home by Police who also spoke to his carer at this time. He was left at home and Police will make inquiries as to the most appropriate course of action to take against the youth with regard to this matter. An update on two stolen motor vehicles that have recently appeared on this page: * The white Nissan Patrol utility, registered number BI-23-WI, that appeared on the activities report on the 22nd of July was located at 2:24pm on Friday the 26th on Woolomin Gap Road, Woolomin. Unfortunately it had been destroyed by fire. * On a happier note the grey Mazda 3, registered number CDK-67K, posted by Samantha SZYC on our page has been found intact at 6:30pm on Saturday the 27th in Lydia Street, South Tamworth.
