ACTS 10:34-35 THEN PETER OPENED HIS MOUTH, OF A TRUTH I PERCEIVE THAT GODIS NO RESPECTER OF PERSON: 35 BUT IN EVERY NATION HE THAT FEARETH HIM, AND WORKETH RIGHTEOUSNESS, IS ACCEPTED WITH HIM. there once was a gentile centurion named Cornelius. now Cornelius was a good GOD fearing man who always prayed and gave alms, and had a reputation of being RIGHTEOUS among the people.one day, an angel of the LORD appeared before Cornelius and told him YOUR PRAYERS HAVE BEEN HEARD AND ARE BEING ANSWERED. the angel gave specific instructions, that Cornelius was to send for SIMON PETER in the city of JOPPA. Romans 8:28 King James Version (KJV) 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. now at the same time, SIMON PETER fell into a trance and saw a vision concerning unclean things descending from HEAVEN and the LORD telling him to freely eat. SIMON PETER declined based on HEBREW LAW which prohibits the consuming of unclean things. but the LORD told SIMON PETER, NOTHING IS UNCLEAN WHICH I HAVE BLESSED. Proverbs 4:7 King James Version (KJV) 7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. by the time Cornelius men got to SIMON PETER, he had pretty much figured out the vision. scripture says he invited in the gentile men to spend the nite, and depart in the morning. when it was previously not allowed to let unclean men under the roof in a HEBREW home. when SIMON PETER came to Cornelius home and found a multitude of gentiles(unclean men). he still entered. Cornelius told SIMON PETER of the visit from the angel of the LORD. and SIMON PETER began to preach salvation through JESUS CHRIST. as SIMON PETER preached, everyone who heard received the HOLY SPIRIT. which was the first time gentiles had received the HOLY SPIRIT. which is why SIMON PETER made the above entitled statement, THEN PETER OPENED HIS MOUTH, OF A TRUTH I PERCEIVE THAT GOD IS NO RESPECTER OF PERSON: 35 BUT IN EVERY NATION HE THAT FEARETH HIM, AND WORKETH RIGHTEOUSNESS, IS ACCEPTED WITH HIM. after this happened, the gentiles were accounted among the brethren. but what I would like you to pay attention to also. is the fact that GOD was working simultaneously in Cornelius life, and SIMON PETERS. to bring about HIS WILL. which is GOOD and RIGHTEOUS. we some times dont believe GOD is working things out because we dont see it. but GOD is moving HEAVEN and EARTH to bring about HIS WILL, HIS promises. I heard a pastor say once, A FLOWER GROWS DOWN BEFORE IT GROWS UP. and while its growing down, we cant see it. but its happening. taking root for the day it will break ground and bloom. thats why we are called to walk by FAITH and not by sight.. why did GOD tell Cornelius to go get SIMON PETER? why didnt GOD just tell SIMON PETER to go to Cornelius? why the mystery behind the vision? because salvation, redemption, is a two way street in which we are blessed to participate and be a part of. Philippians 2:12 King James Version (KJV) 12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. CLOSING: what have we learned? simply GOD IS WORKING IT OUT. a RIGHTEOUS man is never forsaken.
