ACTS Chapter 21 – TERESA’S EASY RENDITION 1 Then we sailed straight to Cos. The next day, to Rhodes. And from there, to Patara. 2 There we found a ship bound to Phoenicia, so we went aboard and sailed away. 3 From the island of Cyprus, we left and sailed to Syria. The ship stopped at Tyre to unload cargo. 4 The stopover would take 7 days, and so we looked for the disciples there. At the mouth of the disciples, the Holy Spirit told Paul many times not to go to Jerusalem. 5 After 7 days, we were leaving. The disciples, with their wives and children, escorted us out of the city. On the shore, we knelt down and prayed. 6 Then we bade goodbye and boarded the ship, and they went home. 7 From Tyre, we moved on to Ptolemais. There we greeted the brothers and stayed a day with them. 8 The following day, we arrived in Caesarea. Then we went to the house of Philip the evangelist, one of the 7, and we stayed with him. 9 Philip had 4 virgin daughters who prophesy. 10 We’ve been there for many days when a prophet named Agabus came from Judea. 11 He came to us, took the belt of Paul, tied his own feet and hands, and said: “The Holy Spirit says, ‘This is how the owner of this belt will be tied by the Jews in Jerusalem, and then hand him over to the Gentiles.’ 12 On hearing this, we and the others there begged him not to go to Jerusalem. 13 Paul answered: “Why are you crying like this and breaking my heart? Remember, I’m not only ready to be tied, I’m also ready to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus!” 14 When we couldn’t convince him, we gave up and said, ‘May the will of Jehovah be done.’ 15 Then we packed and moved to Jerusalem. 16 Some disciples of Caesarea went with us and led us to the house of Mnason, a new disciple who lived in Cyprus, where we would stay. 17 When we arrived at Jerusalem, the brothers there welcomed us warmly. 18 The next day, Paul went with us to see James, and all the elders were present. 19 Paul greeted them and told them everything what God did to the Gentiles through his ministry. 20 On hearing it, they glorified God and said to him: “Brother, now you see how many thousands of Jews who have become believers, and all have passion for the Law.
