ADEBUMITI BAMIDELE WROTE : MY PASTOR SAID SYNDROME “ON MARRIAGE MATTERS” If all what you can say is my pastor said at every bit of your word and there is no place for what God is saying through you as a believer in accordance with the Word you have internalized with time, then is a matter if all our words only navigate in the path that centres on what your pastor says only! Remember your pastor is able to speak as it were because he/she waits on God. To wait and hear from God is not for professionals; as you have tagged your pastor to be. It is the delight of your heavenly Father to speak with you too, more so, Christ was sent for all. We are not saying you should not quote your pastor or follow his biddings, we must always do as a matter of fact, but the issue of you getting to know God yourself cannot be over emphasis. Many got married because “my pastor said” without taking out time to seek God on the matter of their marital life and when trouble arises they set out to blame the pastor about it. . . saying alas, but my pastor said is God! the truth is that if you have being hearing from God right from time to time your pastor would only need to confirm what God has being speaking to you expressly. Wedding may just take a day or more but marriage is when the God factor you have left behind will be needed, but God forbid we leave HIM behind on any issues of life! it is only God that sustains marriage Why do folks pray and do extra pulling when is get to marriage matters? Don’t be shock to hear this, if you don’t know how to hear from God on every other issues of life, even on ordinary things, you could find it difficult to hear when is also on the issue of marriage. Friends do yourself good to learn the “Act of the Spirit” seek to know His dimensions, if know you how He speaks to you on everyday life issues when the sure time to get a profound godly partner comes, you get to know with ease by your attitude of prayers and studying the Word. The place of your pastor is very important since he/she is a spiritual over-sight in the Church of Christ concerning saint. He can confirm what God has shown you, encourage your faith to have great confident in the will of God for your life and also help in the time of courtship to keep your body pure in the face of the Holy Spirit.
