Is this the first salvo against income inequality from investors in a major corporation? Clearly, excessive executive pay certainly doesnt increase shareholder value, and investors may increasingly demand compensation that is more intricately linked to profits or other metrics. Meanwhile, studies continually show that increasing low-wage worker pay towards a living wage does actually affect the bottom line by decreasing turnover and absenteeism, and generally giving average workers a reason to give a shit.
