ADOPTION Q & A July 17, 2014 It was so great to meet so many wonderful couples and other people who support adoption, and Circle of Love. Our guest speakers were knowledgeable and answered some great questions. We had one of our birth moms, who had lived at the maternity home, tell her story of how she found Circle of Love, was matched with her couple, the birth of her son, and what awesome things God is doing in her life now. Then we had a surprise video from her adoptive couple! They told our audience what their experience was like. The BIG ANNOUNCEMFNT was make by Ben Zickafoose, Executive Director of Carpenter Place. IT’S OFFICIAL!!! Carpenter Place and Circle of Love have entered into a partnership to offer Maternity Home housing for our birth mothers. We are so blessed and grateful for this opportunity to link our ministries together, to come along side and serve women in times of their greatest need. Circle of Love has its roots at Carpenter Place. Now we have come full circle. This is where I believed that God was leading Circle of Love when we closed the maternity home. God’s timing is perfect, and we waited, doing what we do as a ministry to our birth moms, non-residentially, until now. The time is perfect! Carpenter Place is allowing COL to utilize 4 of their one bedroom apartments as our maternity home, with room for expansion, after we become established. We will offer these apartments, fully furnished, and completely ready to live in. The apartments will include all utilities, cable, internet, security, on-site supervision, and casework management, all at no charge to our birth moms. The women and their children can live in these apartments until they can successfully maintain a job and budget. They will receive life skills training, life coaching, counseling, and a chance to become stable, with a successful future within their reach! We can help them clear up debt, pay off past utilities and other obstacles to living out in their community, as well as build a rental history with us. The areas of service for these women is exciting and the list keeps growing! We can move our first resident in as soon as mid-August! What Circle of Love needs is start-up funds. We have not operated in a way that required us to generate income to a great extent. But, now the season of depending on the network of supporters of our efforts, for the next phase, is upon us!!! We have some advertising coming out this fall that will bring more support, but for now, I’m asking all our “adventure” seeking supporters to give financially. We will know how big, and how much we can offer, by how much we can raise in just the next 2 weeks. We will not have the opportunity to expand again for 6 more months. Can you help out now?
