ADVICE NEEDED for Special Mom & Community #psnm00231 Im very upset and hope yall can help out. I feel kinda bad since Ive had time to think about what happened today. My family of 6 went shopping today for end of quarter grades because everyone did so well. So we are in the store and my son ( who is currently being assessed for autism) is in the buggy. Hes 6 and small for his age but tends to take off in a running fit when it gets to be too much. So I put him in a buggy for his own safety. This old man comes by and says to my son that hes too big to be in a buggy. My sons stares at the man for a second and begins to tear up. I ask the man what .... then he proceeds to tell me how my child is too big to be in a buggy and that I should be ashamed for putting him there. I said look mister... my son is a special needs child and you have no reason to say anything about my child and how I handle him. The man jumps down my throat saying I should keep him home if hes special and that should never put him in a buggy. I finally told the man that he needed to shut his trap and walk away. He finally nodded and walked away. Did I handle this like yall wouldve? Im feeling torn. My son was upset and it made me angry that a stranger said anything to him. Idk...
