AFAG’s ultimatum to Mahama “garbage” Below is the statement from the Concerned Government Communicators rebutting AFAGs claims: Delusional AFAG must get real It has come to our notice that a group calling itself the Alliance for Accountable Governance has issued a statement calling for H.E. President John Dramani Mahama to resign within the next three months or face what they call mass actions and impeachment. We urge the good people of Ghana to disregard the statement in its entirety and treat it with the contempt it deserves. A cursory look at the contents of the statement shows a shoddy attempt at rehashing stale, baseless and unfounded allegations against the President. The statement sounds like a broken record churning out discordant tunes. For the avoidance of any doubts and the benefits of the general public, we would expose the mischief and fallacy contained in the statement. The allegations of corruption leveled against the President are outright lies and the creation of very mischievous minds. The group has repeatedly alleged foul play in the acquisition of Military Jets for the Ghana Air Force. H.E. John Dramani Mahama has NEVER been engaged in the negotiation of the said jets. Technically competent officers from the Ghana Air Force handled all negotiations and variations to the stock design. The suggestion that $17 million was earmarked for a hangar betrays a sorry level of ignorance of the matter. A full service station complete with spare parts and training of Ghanaian Air Force Officers to service Embraer Jets across the entire African and Middle East region was what the package included. We find it curious that the NPP Alliance for Accountable Governance is unaware of the splendid work being done by the Justice Apau led Judgment Debt Commission. The issues of misconduct by public officers, the mysterious case of the missing $3.5 million Drillship saga among others. And what about the letter written by Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo pleading for the Attorney-General to approve payment of judgment debts to His friends at the Great Cape Company of Switzerland. Is AFAG not aware that Government does not control the processes of the Court? Are they not aware that the A-G has commenced the necessary legal procedures for the retrieval of monies paid to Waterville? It does appear that they are ignorant of a great number of issues. How could any responsible group of people with a conscience make a claim that NYEP has collapsed? How did they form NYEP? Was there any legislative framework? Was it not a knee jerk reaction by the Kuffour administration to quell agitation from NPP footsoldiers? In actual fact what is NYEP? AFAG is apparently unaware that what used to be NYEP is now called GYEEDA. And we are supposed to take them serious? The frustrations of AFAG are evident in how desperate they seek to create issues where none exist. Did we not see President Kuffour and His Chief of Staff grace the unveiling of the new Universal Merchant Bank? Or President Kuffour and Mr. Kwadwo Mpianim were part of whatever scheme they claim was hatched? Interesting revelations from AFAG. And is AFAG claiming that we have not had fuel shortages in Ghana for the past 15 years? Well lets refresh their memories; We are shocked at the dishonesty being displayed by AFAG on matters of national importance. We also find the conduct of AFAG flip floppy and inconsistent. Just yesterday Messrs. Davies Opoku, Nana Fredua Agyemang and Perry Okudzeto, all leading members of AFAG, were seen demonstrating at the Efua Sutherland Childrens Park and handing over a petition to the President. Barely 24 hours after their petition, they are calling for the Presidents resignation? How logical? The President is now assumed to have magical powers by AFAG? In concluding, we find it quite ‘coincidental that just days after a fictitious letter in which the Presidents signature had been forged emerged on social media, AFAG has followed up with a press statement to buttress their previous call. We urge the Ghana Police to take interest in this coincidence as part of their ongoing investigations. We remain resolute in our belief that the majority of Ghanaians repose a high level of trust in President John Dramani Mahamas ability to steer this Nation to greater heights. We urge Him to disregard the discordant noises from Agent Provocateurs and keep His eyes fixed on the prize. Long live the Republic of Ghana Signed Samuel Nartey George George Spencer Quaye Ali Dawud.
