AFF How lucky are we ? Well fellars you should see the sh#t that’s going on at other clubs around Victoria. Memberships are down because club politics don’t reflect with what the members want. I am currently a member of many local clubs and the jerk reaction of world and local events has restricted what was meant to be the most important reason to be in a club. Most clubs have written in their goal for their club is to provide a “safe and friendly environment. Although the word “FUN “is not written in any clubs goal it is by far the most important word. The AFF was formed with this as its major goal. In the early days practically all its members were park flyers looking for a place to share their common interests. Yes it took some time for these park flyers to recognise and conform to various rules and the patience shown by other members during this period was very sportsman like. Now several years on we have developed a culture that the attitude of members towards a newbie is that this person is a "new friend I haven’t met yet!" Although our infrastructure is second to none it’s the “members” that make the club what it is. I can see a point where we may have to limit our membership as the bigger the club gets the more bulsh#t seems to creep in. I could go on further and list the advantages of being a member of the AFF but if you look around at other clubs you’ll see what I see, a group of likeminded enthusiasts just having “FUN”.
