AFRICAN LEADERSHIP,THE PAIN AND THE TRAGEDY IT IS: Idi Amin Dada of Uganda messed his country. A blood coupe gave him power and blood war took him out to restore sense in the country. Mobutu likewise came to power in the same foolish way, he messed Zaire before dying away from home alone like an old dog. In the exile he could have avoided. Gaddafi came to power on the gun so he died on the same gun which gave him power. Many lives were lost in the process. He left his country in a mess. For every sin a leader commits his subjects pay or before his children pays if he does not pay himself. Mengistu messed Ethiopia before running away to exile. Many died of hunger and in the liberation. The King before him died alone with the lions he had kept for pets. What is wrong with leadership! Siad Barre brought a legacy hard to clean in Somalia. Now Kenyans have the mess to clean while lives are getting lost. Here we are in Kenya paying the price of bad leadership of a neighbour. Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore led his nation to prosperity. African leaders have the capacity and the intelligence to lead Africa to new heights of prosperity but we need to work at the simple principles of leadership. I am today spending time to pray for all African leaders. We respect you and we have hope in you. You have the potential to be the best leaders ever. Mandela has shown the way. Let us be the best. God bless Africa.
