AFTER NIGERIA VS IRAN GOALESS DRAW See What the Iranians Are Saying After the fruitless battle Iran Satisfaction is Nigeria Disappointment. Despite a draw you can tell that the majority of Iranians are satisfied with the outcome of this match unlike us. I bet they are happy God provided them with the super eagles smiley. rezabmehr: I think we have if not the best but one of the best defenses in the WC. We were organized and did not allow any plays develop for Nigeria. Boys did well and Nigeria really was frustrated and started playing lousy in second half. We had our chances and could not capitalize. persian-eagle-13: we did well, we needed point from this game with we did. now we can focus on recover and next game Gijscoman: Ive got mixed feelings about this match. On the one hand, its one point and a clean sheet! On the other hand, Iran had the best chances, Nigeria was awful and winning this game couldve brought Iran to the next round. Btw. I was really disappointed in Dejagah and also Nekounam disappointed me a bit. Haghighi wasnt really great, but did what had to be done. The defence played well, though! Very well! I think that I am a Hosseini fan now. As many have already mentioned in the other discussion, Teymourian was a beast! He made me remember Van Bommel of the Netherlands. No fear for playing rough! He is a great player and really important for the team! The attack wasnt as strong as I had hoped, though. Gucci is not to blame, as he was standing there alone. Hajsafi and especially Dejagah made it impossible to perform well in the attack. Personally, I think CQ shouldve made changes a bit earlier. But I dont want to start negativity about CQ! gol_kuchik: Hats off to Quiroush for an excellent defense. Nigeria created only 2 goal scoring opportunity, which thankfully they did not capitalize. My only grip is why not use all 3 subs. Other than that very happy with outcome. This should solidify our defence hopefully against Argentina as well. LiverpoolFC: What a frustrating match we just couldnt string two passes together, we needed to start Ali Reza Jahanbakhsh from the beginning i felt we didnt have enough creativity from word go arseces: Congrats everyone for the great performance , thank you cq and players especially ando and pooladi for his ultra iranian gheyrat Taz: So bleeping proud of our boys. That was one of the best tactical performances youll see in a long time. Every second went according to plan. Sure, shame we couldnt get the goal and we were poor in possession numerous times but the one thing weve been working towards and focussing on was our defensive shape, organisation and discipline and we absolutely smashed it. They didnt get a sniff and we had the best chance of the match. Hopes of qualification coming down to the Bosnia game is fine, we can now have confidence that our defence really is a world class unit. And well make things difficult for Argentina. Iman_Joon: Teymourian... wow what a warrior. Best today, he really showed them persianballer: Terrible game, we played Nigeria as if it was Argentina and you guys are happy. This was Nigeria FFS, theyre poo! Also, Heydari was awful, he was so slow. Soroush-IK: Im satisfied. 0-0 against african champions Nigeria is a good result. I was hoping for a 2-1 victory but we have more points than the world camps Spain and Bosnia. Hosseini: Good defense, but Heydari couldnt match Nigerias physical shape. I dont blame Ashkan because he had 0 help on the counters, although he lost the ball a lot. Iran need to open up more in order to get three points from Bosnia. AliCarbon: Great defense. Pouladi was outstanding out of a class D line. AShkan seemed demotivated.. .. Heydari is not in form. Good effort by Reza (Gucci). And dont start name calling but the referee was more harsh on TM than SEs. rezabmehr: I think we have if not the best but one of the best defenses in the WC. Many people thought that Nigeria would be beat Iran on strength and endurance, but it was the other way around. Just that is already a big victory gol_kuchik:Hats off to Quiroush for an excellent defense. Nigeria created only 2 goal scoring opportunity, which thankfully they did not capitalize. My only grip is why not use all 3 subs. Other than that very happy with outcome. This should solidify our defence hopefully against Argentina as well. Dejagah: I was pleased with our overall play. We defended amazingly well, Pouladi saved me from a few heart attacks. I disliked how we gave up possession easily sometimes increasing the pressure on us. From an attacking sense we were obviously limited but Reds did well considering what he was provided with. From my POV Ashkan wasnt very good, he gave up possession very easily sometimes trying to dribble and getting crowded out. Queiroz was right to sub him out. We started out very nervy and on edge but once we got used to the pace and the tempo we played reasonably well. Ive had to take a couple paracetamols , I was so stressed and I had a few mini heart attacks during the game. I need to lie down O-ZoNe: Haghighi was very good, a bit shaky once in a while but nothing to complain about. Was very disappointed with Nekounam, I thought he was nervous from start to finish, and kept smacking under the ball. He did not command the midfield like I expected from him. Teymourian had to run his a$$ off as a result, and Dejagah was muffed out very easily. Defense was rock solid, very impressed. Gucci was Canadian TVs man of the match, and with the little service he got, he did well. I would have liked to seen ARJ and Masoud in earlier, maybe 10-15 min left in game. I thought they had some subtle impact, and ARJ brought much needed pace. Camran khan: Defense was really good, especially Pouladi, who most of us doubted, damesh garm! DEJAGAH AKA our best player was awful...Nekounam, with so many years in La Liga, playing in a previous world cup, being our captain, was more nervous than anyone I had seen.. wtf.. not the way a captain should be..Teymourian was a beast, ran like a motherfvcker..
