AGREEMENT Whereas, sabong is a cultural sport of the Filipinos even before Magellan came to our shores; Whereas, the Philippines is considered as the cockfighting capital of the world; Whereas, sabong and gamefowl breeding are now industries from which millions of Filipinos rely on for their livelihood; Whereas, the media, particularly the sabong media is an essential component of the sabong industry; Now therefore, we the undersigned members of the sabong media bind ourselves to be called the Organisasyon ng mga Kagalang-galang na Kabahagi ng Sabong Media (OKKSM) to further enhance our role in the field of journalism and broadcasting for the betterment of the sabong industry. As members of the OKKSM, we commit ourselves to the following ideals : a) That we will protect, preserve and properly disseminate the truth within the sabong industry; b) That we will not be an instrument to disinform, misinform and mislead our readers and viewers to the detriment of the sabong community; c) That we will never engage ourselves in envelopmental journalism; d) That we will strive to upgrade and improve our craft to better serve the sabungeros; e) That we will protect sabong from misinformation and black propagandas of those that aims to eradicate it.
