AIMS world-class aquarium facility, the National Sea Simulator (SeaSim) is now open for business. Application information is now online (aims.gov.au/national-sea-simulator/application-information) Located at our Cape Ferguson headquarters near Townsville, SeaSim allows scientists to conduct large, long-term experiments, manipulating environmental conditions in a tightly controlled environment. SeaSim at a glance: - 3 000 000 litres filtered seawater pumped per day (at full capacity) - 3 650 000 litres of bulk seawater storage capacity - 3022 sq.m of floor area - 28.2 km of pipework - 43 seawater pumps - 33 seawater processing tanks - 3450 L hot (40 °C) seawater storage.
