AIR POWER DISCUSSION-ANSWER Why Does God Seem To Heal Some And Not All? As a Pastor I have often wondered myself why God heals some people and others are not healed. Although, I cannot say I can offer a conclusive explanation to this phenomenon, I believe I can offer some thought provoking ideas. A lack of faith. Jesus often said to those he healed according to your faith be it done unto you This presupposes that faith is a requirement for healing. Persisting in sin. One day Jesus said to a lame man he had healed that persistent in sin can cause a disease to re-emerge. Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole:sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. John 5:14 Sickness unto death. Eventually God will call everyone home and he can use sickness to call you home. Elisha was a great man of God but God used his sickness to call him home. Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof 2 Kings 13:14 The judgement of God. God can use sickness as a tool to judge and punish people. The church of Corinth abused the sacrament of communion and God punished them by making some sick and some to die. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. 1 Corinthians 11:30-32 Idiopathic causes. The word idiopathic means an unknown cause There are some things about God that are mysterious. For example only one leper was healed in the whole of Israel in Elishas time, the reason is idiopathic. And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian Luke 4:27 These are some reasons I believe that explain why some are healed and some are not.
