AKWA IBOM YOUTHS FORUM wrote: "TEARS, PAINS, HUNGER AS THOUSANDS OF GRADUATES GATHER TO COLLECT APPLICATION FORMS FOR TEACHING JOBS ACROSS THE THREE SENATORIAL DISTRICTS IN AKWA IBOM STATE As Observed in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Centre. The unemployed graduates arrived at the venue before 8am despite the early morning heavy rainfall. The age bracket of the applicants ranged between 20 and 45." My question is; what is the difference between what took place in Akwa Ibom and what Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi attempted to do in Rivers state, that the overzealous police commissioner had to tears gas the beneficiaries of the Rivers state government gesture? As a matter of fact what Amaechi attempted to do deserves more commendation, because the 13,000 persons had undergone training and examination, passed and secured employment. They only had their letters of employment, left to lay hold on. But those who have appropriated to themselves the exclusive rights of rascality and impunity, deemed it fit to disperse the newly recruited teachers with tears gas. We are now in an animal farm, where some animals are superior to others, where one animal do as occasion serves him, but others dare not try it, otherwise the dogs in the farm will be unleashed on them. Is this what democracy is all about?
